About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Retail Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of our global retail store development projects. This role will oversee the full project lifecycle, from pre-lease site assessments and technical reviews through design development, construction execution, permitting, handover, and store opening. The ideal candidate has strong experience in international retail projects, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive multiple projects across regions and time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Project Management
- Lead the full lifecycle of global retail store development projects, including site surveys, technical due diligence, design coordination, construction management, project delivery, and store opening.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the key project lead across internal and external stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, fixture and material suppliers, Operations teams, and Visual Merchandising (VM) teams.
- Ensure design concepts are executed with a high degree of accuracy and consistency while maintaining brand standards across all locations.
International Permitting & Compliance
- Coordinate with landlords, shopping malls, property management companies, consultants, and local authorities across the U.S. and other international markets.
- Lead or support permitting, fire and life safety approvals, inspections, and final acceptance processes to ensure full compliance with local regulations.
Construction Quality & Safety Management
- Monitor project execution through remote management and on-site inspections at key project stages.
- Ensure compliance with construction standards, material specifications, quality requirements, and safety regulations while maintaining a consistent global brand image.
Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Proactively identify project risks and develop contingency plans to address potential challenges, including construction delays, supply chain disruptions, customs clearance issues, and schedule impacts.
- Drive issue resolution and maintain project momentum to support successful store openings.
Process Optimization & Standardization
- Develop and continuously improve global store development standards, construction manuals, acceptance criteria, and supplier evaluation systems.
- Capture project learnings and best practices to support scalable international retail expansion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above with a minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within leading retail brands or chain-store businesses.
- Strong understanding of retail construction processes, store fixtures, material specifications, and technical drawings.
- Excellent project management and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating across cultures, time zones, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong ownership mindset, execution capability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Fluent English & Mandarin communication skills, both written and verbal.
Travel Requirement
- Willingness to travel internationally on a frequent basis and undertake overseas assignments as required by project needs.
