Dobs is an AI-native platform for accounting and advisory firms running M&A transaction work. Its autonomous agent delivers full Quality of Earnings reports end-to-end by ingesting thousands of unstructured files and produces audit-grade Excel workbooks. We are live with several top-100 CPA firms and Fortune 500 companies, including Uber.

Dobs was formed in partnership with Founding Board members Alex Tonelli - co-founder of Funding Circle (IPO) and first investor in Collective Medical (major sale), and Emil Veltchev, Partner at Endurance Companies.

About The Role

We seek a highly driven Chief of Staff to work directly with our CEO, Nikita Komarov. This is a high-ownership role with the goal of enabling Nikita to focus on high-priority initiatives that propel the business forward. You will:

• Work directly with the CEO: on communications, materials, and the strategic decisions that keep the business moving.
• Be a sounding board: by providing research, analysis, and perspective on critical decisions.
• Be deeply involved in product development: interfacing with clients, translating their feedback back to our engineers, and opening new business lines.
• Improve internal systems: helping to manage our processes, operations, and finances.
• Step into gaps: preparing materials, contributing to fundraising, and putting out fires wherever they show up.

About You

Our ideal candidate is deeply entrepreneurial and may come from investing, high-growth startups, or both. You can view this role as a 2-year commitment to the Chief of Staff position, setting you up to start your own business, or a runway to becoming an executive at Dobs. You have:

• 5 to 7 years in consulting, finance, operations, or early-stage companies.
• Bonus: transaction advisory experience or familiarity with accounting workflows.
• High emotional intelligence and judgement, with the ability to earn trust quickly.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-paced environment where priorities shift often.
• Familiarity with AI: Experience with Claude Code, prompting, app development.
• Strong project management capabilities with a track record of delivering results

**You must be based in San Francisco or willing to relocate.**

Working with us

This is not a large corporate environment. If you are looking for predictability, tight lanes, or a nine-to-five, this is the wrong culture for you. Our cash compensation is commensurate with that of an early-stage business, offset by significant equity ($120K-$150K cash + 0.5-2% equity). If your experience falls far above our expectations (e.g. 10+ years in high-performance environments), we can be flexible with the role and compensation, but it will continue to lean equity-heavy. We are looking for missionaries, not mercenaries.
