In 2018, we began with a WhatsApp group with a simple hypothesis: people in tier-2/3 towns weren’t really using the internet meaningfully yet. We believed that if we started with local content in their own language, they’d come back every day; once there was a habit and trust, that same space could naturally grow into classifieds and, eventually, something they used for almost everything online.

This spark became Lokal. Our first instinct was to put everything in one place & one app - local updates, classifieds, jobs, matrimony and more. It worked, till it stopped working. Users gave us the insight - when one use case outweighs the others, everything else seems like noise. We listened. Like how Craigslist quietly seeded a generation of focused companies & marketplaces, we began unbundling and verticalising.

Role Overview :

We’re seeking a dynamic and execution-focused Supply Operations leader to build, scale, and manage the supply side of the Dostt platform. This role will be responsible for growing and optimizing the creator / profile / partner ecosystem on the platform to ensure strong demand-supply alignment and revenue growth.

The ideal candidate will own supply acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization while building scalable systems and processes to support rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities :

Supply Growth & Strategy

• Build and scale a high-quality supply base (profiles / partners / service providers as relevant to Dostt).
• Design strategies to balance demand-supply dynamics across geographies and categories.
• Optimize pricing, visibility, and engagement levers to improve conversion and revenue.
• Use data analytics to forecast demand trends and fill supply gaps proactively.

Execution & Operations

• Own the complete lifecycle: sourcing, onboarding, verification, activation, and performance monitoring.
• Establish SOPs, quality benchmarks, and compliance frameworks.
• Drive supply engagement through structured follow-ups, nudges, and activity programs.
• Implement churn reduction strategies and reactivate dormant users.
• Build dashboards to track KPIs like activation rate, response rate, match success rate, revenue per active profile, etc

Leadership & Team Management

• Hire, train, and manage a high-performing supply operations team.
• Set clear KPIs and ensure disciplined execution
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Growth, and Customer Support teams.
• Build scalable operational systems that can support rapid expansion.

Business Growth & Partnerships

• Identify and execute strategic partnerships to strengthen the supply pipeline.
• Launch loyalty programs, premium features, and incentive structures to improve engagement.
• Introduce monetization initiatives to maximize lifetime value (LTV) of active supply.

Market Insights & P&L Ownership

• Conduct competitive benchmarking within the relationship / matrimony / social networking ecosystem.
• Own supply-side unit economics and P&L.
• Optimize CAC vs LTV, incentives vs revenue, and overall profitability.
• Continuously improve operational efficiency and margins.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with Data-driven decision-making and analytical skills.

• 5+ years of experience in fast-paced B2C startups.
• Prior leadership in supply ops, Creator Ops, or Community management.
• Experience in managing large teams and budgets.
• Exposure to tech-driven businesses at the intersection of product, operations, and strategy.
• Strong analytical thinking and first-principle problem-solving.
• Proven expertise in supply-demand operations and team leadership.
• Fast execution mindset with strong process orientation.
• Preference for candidates from Astrology, Content, or High-Growth Social media platforms or content startups

Bonus points if you have had exposure to

• 2–3 years of experience in a fast-paced startup environment, preferably within the astro-tech or astrology domain.
• Managing large scale strategic / transformation projects in your prior role
• Roles at the intersection of business, product (consumer / media), and tech
• Driving both strategic and tactical decision making
