About Lokal :

In 2018, we began with a WhatsApp group with a simple hypothesis: people in tier-2/3 towns weren’t really using the internet meaningfully yet. We believed that if we started with local content in their own language, they’d come back every day; once there was a habit and trust, that same space could naturally grow into classifieds and, eventually, something they used for almost everything online.This spark became Lokal. Our first instinct was to put everything in one place & one app - local updates, classifieds, jobs, matrimony and more. It worked, till it stopped working. Users gave us the insight - when one use case outweighs the others, everything else seems like noise. We listened. Like how Craigslist quietly seeded a generation of focused companies & marketplaces, we began unbundling and verticalising.

Role Overview :

As a Product Intern, you will work closely with the product, engineering, and design teams to help build and improve user-centric features across our products. This role offers hands-on exposure to the end-to-end product lifecycle, from defining requirements and analysing user behavior to supporting feature launches and post-release insights. You will contribute to writing product documentation, tracking experiments, and using data to inform decisions, while developing strong product thinking and execution skills in a fast-paced startup environment.

Role & Responsibilities :

• Assist in defining product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Work on user flows, feature specs, and PRDs for new and existing products
• Analyze user behavior, funnels, and feature performance using data
• Coordinate with engineering and design teams during execution
• Conduct competitive analysis and user research to inform product decisions
• Track experiments, A/B tests, and feature rollouts
• Support product ops tasks like QA, release notes, and post-launch analysis

What We’re Looking For :

• Strong problem-solving and structured thinking
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear requirements
• High ownership mindset and willingness to get hands-on

Tech & Product Expectations :

• Basic understanding of product analytics (funnels, retention, conversion)
• Ability to write clear user stories and PRDs
• Understanding of APIs, events, and basic backend/frontend concepts
• Comfort working with data (SQL / Excel / Sheets) is a plus
• Exposure to A/B testing, metrics tracking, and dashboards is a bonus

Good to Have :

Prior internship or project experience in product, analytics, or startupsExperience building side projects, no-code tools, or case studiesInterest in consumer internet, local content, or Indian language products.
