Consumers have no way to instantly allow their tax records to be used for faster, more efficient financial services. This is where ModernTax comes in.

ModernTax is the tax infrastructure for the fintech economy. We enable consumers to access their tax information and share it with the financial services ecosystem. This provides digital finance companies the ability to build embedded tax products within their native experiences. Our API layer is built on top of IRS infrastructure and provides a consumer-permissioned access point to read and write functions such as instantly verifying historical tax records, income and identity. ModernTax is democratizing access to every form of consumer and business tax data to enable a bevy of growing applications and use cases.

Job Overview

ModernTax is looking for a Full Stack Engineer passionate about building approachable, innovative and user-first experiences to join our small but growing Engineering team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining backend and frontend functionality across all of ModernTax’s applications. This is an in-office four days a week role for San Francisco only.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience developing web applications
• Extensive knowledge of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and RSpec
• Experience building REST APIs
• Strong experience with React
• Passionate about creating & maintaining good principled software patterns for others on the team to follow
• Proficient learner and problem solver
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment
