About the position:

MoonPay is looking for a Compliance Technology Manager to directly support the Financial Crimes functions of the Moonpay Compliance team by managing the lifecycle of all relevant technology assets and partnering with Engineering/ Product to oversee and provide guidance to support new implementations. This role will add value by delivering and maintaining all new and existing Compliance team systems, monitoring technologies, case management tools, and front-end KYC integrations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial crimes technology applications that are used to support the Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions programs

  • Support new technology implementations and the process to select new vendors

  • Oversee financial crimes transaction monitoring technical activities

  • Oversee quality assurance checks on compliance-related features

  • Analyzing data to help product management make better-informed decisions from a compliance/risk POV.

  • Developing/Defining business processes that help streamline product development

Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years experience in a role(s) that directly supervised financial crimes technologies

  • Proven ability to understand complex data solutions and systems integrations

  • Previous experience working with engineering and product teams to develop technology enhancements and new solutions

  • Previous experience performing data testing and model validation activities

  • Previous experience working with anti-money laundering compliance monitoring rules

  • Ability to independently manage complex technical projects and current business systems that require testing and maintenance

  • Working with G-Suite (docs & sheets) & Excel

  • Able to demonstrate alignment with MoonPay values

  • Ability to work in a remote environment

  • Belief to challenge the status quo

  • Comfortable at operating outside of one's comfort zone

  • Capable of Stakeholder management

  • Flexible & adaptable to the evolving needs of a fast-growing organization

Bonus qualifications:

  • In-depth technical experience writing / coding complex transaction monitoring rules

  • Previous technical experience performing complex testing of transaction monitoring rules

  • Previous experience with complex model validation of a transaction monitoring system

  • CAMS Certification


Our interview process usually takes place on Zoom and tends to consist of the following stages:

  • Recruiter interview (~30 minutes)

  • Initial interview (~30-45 minutes)

  • Take home task (role dependent)

  • Virtual onsite (2-3 30 minute interviews)

  • Additional conversation (if applicable)
