Who we are
Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again.
We’re building a different kind of company, one that puts design, emotion, and human creativity at the heart of everything we do. From the way our products look to how they sound, feel, and function, we care about the details that make technology not just useful, but inspiring.
This is a place for the curious. The creators. The ones who ask why not and mean it. If you're drawn to bold ideas, fast moves, and work that actually makes you feel something, you’ll fit right in.
We're not here to follow the rules. We're here to make better ones.
About Nothing
Founded in London in 2020, Nothing is a design-led tech company building an alternative to the industry giants. Our products – from award-winning smartphones to expressive audio and wearables – blend iconic design with intuitive engineering to put people and creativity back at the centre of consumer tech.
Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, C Ventures, and influential investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’ve grown from startup to global challenger in just a few years.

🧠 AI & Services Intern
6-Month Fixed Term Contract | Start Date: September 2025

Immerse yourself in the world of Nothing through a six-month internship within our highly creative and experimental AI & Services team — part of the wider Global Product division.

This isn’t your typical internship. You’ll be hands-on from day one, working at the cutting edge of design, product, engineering, and artificial intelligence.

You’ll have support and growth from our small but collaborative team, reporting into our AI & Services Lead.

✨ What You’ll Do

Where creativity meets code.
Join our most exploratory team and help shape the future of smart, useful tech at Nothing. We think & move fast, and prototype bold ideas that challenge convention.

You’ll be working across disciplines — as an engineer, designer, UX thinker and cultural sponge — to help us:

  • Prototype AI-powered ideas that blend utility with creativity

  • Build internal tools, scripts, or microservices to improve team workflows (or just make us smile)

  • Contribute to the UX/UI of real product features

  • Train, test, and evaluate generative models and LLMs

  • Explore the role of AI in storytelling, voice, and human–machine interaction

  • Join team brainstorms, rapid prototyping sprints and collaborative jams

  • Collaborate with industrial design, software, and comms to bring ideas to life

If you're curious, technically confident, and bring a forward thinking energy — you'll fit right in.

👀 Who You Are

You’re early in your career with a background or deep interest in Engineering, Design, UX, Research, or a related field. Maybe you’re self-taught. Maybe you’ve just finished a course. Either way, you love building things, experimenting with AI, and pushing creative boundaries.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Fascinated by the intersection of tech, culture, and design

  • Confident with code, or quick to learn

  • A clear, thoughtful communicator

  • Organised and self-starting, with a bias for action

  • Brave enough to think differently and challenge the norm

🗂️How to Apply

Please submit your CV along with a short write-up of a project you’ve worked on that you’re most proud of.

Tell us what you built, why you built it, and what impact it had — technical or otherwise.
Personal projects, coursework, hackathons, or anything self-initiated all count.

We’re less interested in perfection, more in how you think, solve problems, and bring ideas to life. Any applications without a link or an attachment will be automatically rejected.

Please Note:

We’re only able to accept candidates who already have the right to work in the UK. We cannot sponsor intern roles at this time.

Nothing has made the decision to work full-time from our London office — five days a week.

What we offer

  • Fast-paced and creative environment with global reach
  • A culture that values curiosity, creativity, and doing things differently
  • A commitment to building a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming workplace for all
