Data plays a critical role in providing smart insights and empowering modern machine learning in the Presto platform. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to augment Presto’s Data Services & Analytics team to provide data-driven insights to support Presto’s business. You will be collaborating with an energetic cross-functional team to deliver innovative data-driven experiences to Presto customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and clean data from disparate sources using SQL, R, or Python and BI tools to investigate key business trends, issues, and opportunities.
  • Generate insights based on various hypotheses and create attribution models to prove/ disprove the hypotheses.
  • Define and develop AI/ ML evaluation methodology, datasets, tools, and framework.
  • Drive data collection, tool development, processing, and management for Presto Voice products from ASR to NLU and Dialog systems.
  • Undertake Sentiment Analysis, Conversation Analytics & prompt engineering for LLM modules.
  • Deploy statistical models & concepts for superior data insights.
  • Deep knowledge of AI/ML algorithms and models.
  • Employ data mining and statistical techniques to tackle diverse and large-scale ML data challenges.
  • Effectively communicate actionable insights across all levels to inform operations and product enhancements.
  • Present data findings, recommendations, and use cases to C-suite executives internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • At least 8+ years of experience in data science or analytics, ideally in the speech and/or language field.
  • Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, R, or C.
  • Strong understanding of AI and ML fundamentals, as well as high-performance algorithms and statistics.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for data.
  • Experience in developing state-of-the-art data science techniques and tools for large-scale ML products and data processing.
  • Hands-on knowledge of modern BI/ Visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in AWS data technologies is a plus.
  • A self-starter who collaborates closely with other team members to drive projects from initiation to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work and drive results independently and collaborate with others on solutions.
