The opportunity:

ReMatter is a fast-growing start-up creating the modern operating system for the industrial scrap recycling industry ($120bn and growing!). Our customers represent the largest industrial metal recyclers around the world tasked with repurposing industrial and consumer scrap into new materials.

We're seeking a Director of Sales to oversee a team of Account Executives that are the driving force behind our next phase of growth. This leader will bring both strategic vision and hands-on coaching expertise to elevate our sales organization, including implementing cutting-edge tooling and proven methodologies to transform how we engage with the world's largest industrial recyclers. We’re looking for someone who thrives on building high-performance teams, is passionate about mentoring talent, and can scale our go-to-market engine from Series A to market leadership.

This is a remote or hybrid role with preference for Los Angeles, and reports to our Chief Revenue Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Senior and Junior Account Executives
  • Manage performance expectations, KPIs, and team delivery while providing ongoing coaching and managing the revenue forecasting process
  • Design and execute scalable go-to-market strategies to accelerate pipeline generation and revenue growth
  • Implement and optimize utilization of AI-powered tooling to enhance Sales execution throughout the funnel
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales Development to align targeted demand generation initiatives that convert
  • Build and own sales playbooks, methodologies, and training programs to ensure consistent execution across the team
  • Partner closely with post-sale teams to ensure customers are set up for success during the sales process
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to relay market feedback and inform product roadmap priorities
  • Recruit and retain top sales talent to support organizational growth targets

We're looking for someone that has:

  • 8+ years of progressive sales experience with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing sales teams in a startup B2B SaaS context
  • Demonstrated success building, scaling, and motivating sales organizations in high-growth startup environments
  • Hands-on experience implementing and working with modern Sales software, including AI and automation tools (e.g., conversational intelligence, predictive analytics, data synthesis) to drive GTM efficiency
  • Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable sales strategies
  • Excellent communication and executive presence with a track record of cross-functional collaboration
  • First principles thinker with deep understanding of modern sales methodologies (MEDDIC, Challenger, SPIN, or similar)
  • A player-coach mentality with a willingness to engage directly with strategic accounts and assist in closing deals
  • Customer-centric approach with a passion for solving complex business challenges
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and thriving in fast-paced, evolving environments

Nice to have:

  • Experience managing vertical-focused sales motions with largely “offline” ICP
  • Experience managing sales operations or revenue operations
  • Experience managing a remote sales team

Salary: $220k OTE with a competitive base and performance-based variable component (flexible for the right candidate)
