Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Schedule Engine)

As a senior member of the ServiceTitan Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for design, implementation, and operation of a distributed dynamic capacity planning engine that enables thousands of Home Services contractors to schedule tens of thousands of service calls every month to hundreds of thousands of residential properties across the US and Canada, either online or via our Live Services offerings.

Deliver a scalable, reliable solution to a complex business problem.
Own applications that are critical to the success of our customers and our business.
Partner with engineering leaders across teams to drive our vision for backend technologies and lay the foundations for long-term technical excellence.
Collaborate with world-class engineering, product, and design teams--you'll have the opportunity to learn from a wide variety of experiences and, of course, to share your own.
Grow your expertise and fluency with core pieces of technology across the entire application stack.
What you'll bring:
You have 4+ years of experience building scalable web applications with large volumes of data.
You have experience working across different parts of the tech stack including the API layer and backend.
You take pride in both delivering delightful user experiences and in championing technical excellence.
You enjoy working on GitHub repos which are setup for CI/CD, automated testing, and care about code coverage.
You're excited to work collaboratively within engineering and across functional teams. You value mentorship and enjoy helping the engineers around you grow.
You’re eager to contribute your ideas and experiences to help us continuously improve as a product and as a company
Nice to have:
Experience working with Snowflake and PostgreSQL.
Previous experience with or deep understanding of automated capacity planning principles.
Sound understanding of secure coding practices e.g. OWASP Top 10 and of security throughout the Software
Experience working on one or more technologies common in our platform including node.js, express, TypeScript with mongoDB. Our infrastructure is hosted by AWS and runs on Kubernetes/EC2.

ServiceTitan is committed to fair and equitable compensation for all of our employees. We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation. The expected salary range for this role is between $124,000 - $178,000. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
