Lead Data Scientist
Ready to be a Titan?
As a member of the Operations data science team supporting the post-sales organization, you will build NLP/GenAI applications that transform our support and CSM operations. Your work will go directly to customers as part of ServiceTitan’s Help Center and drive internal processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent data science/MLOps skills and be able to translate business needs into data science approaches.
This is a rare opportunity to boost sales growth at a firm that is at scale but still growing rapidly.
What you'll do:
Partner with key business stakeholders at ServiceTitan
Build machine learning systems from the ground up and design scalable data science systems
Deliver cutting edge NLP expertise, driving best practices across all of our NLP projects (including GenAI applications)
Transform insights gained from data into actionable business recommendations
Champion and execute long-term strategic projects that grow ServiceTitan’s platform in the Home Service industry
Invent bold and creative solutions that aim to solve our current and future business problems
What you’ll need:
MS/Ph.D in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or similar quantitative discipline required
7+ years experience as a data scientist developing predictive business models with at least 5 years of experience in NLP applications
Strong background using data science python packages like transformers, pytorch, scikit-learn, and H2O
Expertise using pytorch or other similar packages to train from scratch or alter model architectures of open source LLMs for a variety of downstream tasks (text generation, classification, etc.)
Experience deploying NLP applications in a production environment
Able to seamlessly work with engineering as a co-creator of production solutions
A proven track record of using advanced data solutions to produce effective business results
Able to partner with the business and execute a project from end to end
Great communication skills including communicating complex concepts to business stakeholders
A passion for discovery, problem solving and practical business outcomes
Experience using cloud computing platforms (e.g. Azure) for modern machine learning operations
History of contributing to open source projects
Peer reviewed publications on NLP/deep learning

The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $137,000 USD - $196,000 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
