Role Definition
This role is accountable for release quality in a fast-paced fintech environment. Success is measured by defect prevention, test coverage aligned to requirements, reliability of test data automation, and the ability to support a consistent two‑week release cadence without quality regressions.
Focus Areas
- Validate software built on a complex relational data model spanning investors, investment profiles, SPVs, cap tables, bank accounts, beneficial owners, payout accounts, and distributions
- Design and automate creation of realistic, connected mock data to support functional, regression, and release testing
- Test concurrent workstreams: upcoming release requirements, current release validation, and bug fixes on prior releases
- Balance automated data setup and API testing with manual validation against business requirements
- Operate with limited formal business analysis support, translating requirements directly into executable test cases
- Understand and test RESTful API endpoints used for automation and integrations
- Expand testing coverage to include platform security and compliance fundamentals
Key Responsibilities (Measured)
- Translate product and engineering requirements into clear, testable test cases
- Design and maintain automated scripts to create, manage, and clean up complex relational test data
- Execute manual and automated testing for minor and major releases
- Act as the quality gatekeeper for releases moving from QA to Production
- Identify, document, and verify resolution of defects across current and past releases
- Plan and sequence testing activities to support overlapping release cycles
- Validate API behavior and data integrity using SQL and scripting
- Build and maintain test artifacts within Jira or related tooling
- Expand test coverage to include security, permissioning, and compliance scenarios
30 / 60 / 90 Day Performance Targets
First 30 Days
- Demonstrate working understanding of the Tribevest data model and core entity relationships
- Demonstrate understanding of API endpoints used for test automation
- Create test plans and execute QA for 1–2 minor releases, including limited automation
First 60 Days
- Deliver mock data automation supporting 2–4 releases, including at least one major release
- Serve as QA gatekeeper for 2–4 production releases
- Incorporate basic security and compliance scenarios into release test plans
First 90 Days
- Fully automate mock data setup for both simple and complex releases
- Deliver scripts to remove, reset, or manage existing mock data
- Define a testing framework for platform security and compliance, with initial test plans
- Provide QA coverage (automation and manual) for at least two additional releases
Required Background
- Hands-on QA experience supporting production software releases
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage parallel testing streams
- Experience working directly from requirements without heavy business analysis support
Required Technical Experience
- SQL and relational data modeling
- Scripting for test data creation and automation
- RESTful API testing
- Experience testing fintech, investor portals, or other data-intensive platforms
