Use your engineering experience to help people live healthier

Have you ever wanted to apply your engineering skills and experience to help others live healthier lives? At Wellth, we have an opportunity for you to do that.

Wellth strives to motivate and incentivize healthy habits through individualized care plans. Our approach draws on a unique combination of behavioral economics, habit science, and cutting-edge technology to drive positive behavior and habit change among some of the US's most underserved and high-needs patient populations. Our work has produced demonstrable results, with several large health insurers reporting significant reductions in hospitalization rates by up to 44% in some cases. Our ambition is to be more than just another digital health startup; we aspire to be a category leader in the $88B health outcomes market, singularly focused on improving the lives and medical outcomes of historically hard-to-engage populations. Our work immediately impacts people's lives daily; we have served over 65,000 patients and prevented an estimated 15,000 days in the hospital and 530 lives.

Our mobile app, backend, and data systems drive the positive outcomes and growth we strive to achieve. You can be an integral part of their development.

You have the opportunity to build systems that drive daily healthy habit experiences.

Some of the problems you’ll work on include:

  • Architect and implement scalable analytics to track growth marketing performance.
  • Develop and maintain a codebase for Wellth’s data analysis and visualization package, focusing on user growth / acquisition marketing
  • Develop predictive models to identify high-risk patients for Wellth programs, optimize growth metrics like enrollment and churn, and determine propensity to enroll in program.
  • Integrate multiple marketing channels and experiments in a scalable manner to power analytics and model building
  • Build durable self-service data tools operating on marketing data across diverse channels (email, sms, mail, phone, in-clinic, and more) that support insights for our marketing team
  • Design and analyze A/B growth marketing tests to assess the effectiveness of different customer acquisition strategies and campaigns.
  • Triage operational issues, address data bugs, and create and maintain documentation.
  • Be a thought leader on industry best practices and emerging technologies to improve processes, while partnering with Acquisition Marketing and Product teams to educate, ask better questions, and drive informed decisions.

You will be a member of a diverse and supportive team.

You will work with:

  • Acquisition Marketing / Growth Marketing team on building out a scalable marketing acquisition analytics product.
  • Back-end, front-end, and data engineers to ensure that apps produce telemetry aligned with Wellth’s marketing goals.
  • Manager of Data Engineering, focusing on your professional growth in analytics engineering and leadership within the marketing acquisition domain.

You might be the candidate we’re looking for.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as an analytics engineer or data analyst working with marketing-related data sets
  • Experience working with marketing tech stacks - campaign orchestration systems, channel execution systems, CRMs, DMPs, ESP, website analytics, twilio, ad platforms, SEO and more
  • Experience with architecting and operating production data systems: responding to and triaging issues, optimizing performance, and increasing stability, among other things.
  • Advanced proficiency in writing clean and maintainable SQL, Python, and shell scripts for automation, analysis, and ETL using industry best practices.
  • Experience working on software development teams, including proficiency with Git for collaborating via pull/merge requests and knowledge of agile and scrum methodologies.
  • Comfort with autonomy in the face of ambiguous problems, delivering independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present complex data in an accessible way.

We expect our candidates can:

  • Be an owner of large vertical and horizontal system concerns from inception, to launch, to post-launch operations.
  • Be a strong communicator with engineers, other cross-functional roles, and leadership. Written or verbal, your communications are timely, concise, and clear.
  • Be Pragmatic, balancing quality, speed, cost, and theory.
  • Operate with autonomy.
  • Influence without authority.
  • Teach, coach, and mentor other engineers, being a force multiplier for the team.
  • Compliment the work culture that supports team members, encourages curiosity and learning, and takes advantage of opportunities to improve systems and processes.

In addition to the above, our ideal candidate has:

  • Experience with at least one data quality/observability tool such as dbt tests, Great Expectations, Metaplane, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of data security to protect highly confidential and sensitive data, especially in the healthcare industry.

You will enjoy working with us at Wellth.

The benefits of working with us include:

  • Ability to have a positive impact on people who need it most.
  • Flexible working arrangements, supporting strong remote-first practices and tools with the option to work in our excellent gathering space in Marina Del Rey.
  • Competitive salary; health, dental, vision insurance, & FSA/HSA plans.
  • Support of a highly dedicated team focused on building the future of healthcare.
