Video Metadata Writer (Remote)

Responsibilities

• Have responsiveness and a target oriented mindset.
• Make crucial decisions concerning uploaded content.
• Write and organize metadata (captions, keywords) of digital content.
• Evaluate the quality of already processed content and metadata.
• Keep close communication with the team concerning job-related topics.
• Attend regular meetings.

Skills and requirements

Professional Experience

• Background in video editing, post-production, or film analysis
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in copywriting, content writing
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in video editing, video analysis, or media-related work
• Familiarity with different video formats, storytelling structures, and pacing

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of editing techniques, including:
• Cuts (Jump cuts, Match cuts, Smash cuts, etc.)
• Transitions (Dissolves, Wipes, Fades, etc.)
• Special Effects (VFX, motion graphics, color grading)
• Audio Editing (Sound design, background music integration, muting choices)
• Proficiency in at least one video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Cap cut, etc.)
• Knowledge of cinematic language (Montage theory, continuity editing, pacing)

Analytical & Writing Skills

• Ability to break down video sequences and explain editing choices
• Strong written communication skills for detailed descriptions
• Ability to describe the final goal of the video and how edits contribute to it
• Experience in writing structured reports or metadata is a plus
• Ability to follow structured guidelines and fill out metadata forms
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple reviews

Preferred Bonus skills

• Experience in film/TV post-production, YouTube content editing, or commercial video editing
• Degree in Film Studies, Media Production, or related field
• Experience with motion graphics or visual effects
• Experience as a post-production supervisor or script analyst
